Maya Corona Art
Company Description:Maya is a mom, wife, artpreneur, designer, and unshakable optimist. She is originally from Mexico City; now, she lives in Canada, where she found love and rediscovered her passion for art.
With over 20 years of graphic design experience, Maya decided to step back from that world in 2019 to pursue her art professionally. Her vibrant, bold colours are a staple in her work; her graphic design background allows Maya to take any project from idea to completion with any media she figures out.
Maya likes to explore techniques like mixed media, watercolours, and acrylics. Nature inspires Maya to create bold and vibrant pet and pet portraits and dreamy loose florals.
Her work has been featured in Canada at 12 collective art shows at the McDougall Centre, +15 galleries with Art Commons, the Consulate of Mexico in Calgary, the U.S. consulate, cSpace and others. Maya's artwork is also in many private collections.
You can spot Maya's public art in communities like Cresent Heights, Mount Pleasant, and Hidden Valley.
Maya Corona runs her art studio from home and has taught watercolours for five years. And she has had three solo exhibitions, the latest one with the Jubilee Auditorium in 2022.
My painting style is graphic and realistic, and I have a particular passion for portrait and figurative painting. I work in various mediums, including acrylic, watercolour, mixed media, charcoal, and digital art and I am constantly exploring and learning new ways to express my art.
"My big passion is inspiring those around me, so they can get confident and become the next generation of bold magic colour makers. I believe we are in this world to find joy and freedom but most importantly to make our soul happy."
